I applaud eBay for its action during these uncertain times! “Up and Running” eBay’s Response to COVID-19, is a beacon of hope for small businesses around North America. Not only is eBay doing it’s part but so is the rest of the world. It’s been amazing to watch people rally together to support our healthcare workers, our supply chain and our small businesses! Entrepreneurship really is one of the best ways to help shape the world. No matter how big or small your business, you make an impact. And eBay is showing love to all of the US’s brick and mortar businesses by running a new program called, “Up and Running”.
On April 2nd they announced this program. It’s for those who have only ever bought on eBay or sold personally or who have never used eBay before(kinda like me when I started!). So it’s an exclusive offer to new eBay Businesses and it’s a heck of a deal! The basics of the program are $100 Million in support of small businesses over the next 3 months. It’s aim is to help those businesses who have never had an e-commerce sales channel develop one quickly and easily.
What are eBay’s Exec’s Saying About Their New Program?
Jordan Sweetnam was featured on eBay’s company publication, SVP eBay North America saying, “eBay was built on the simple premise that connecting buyers and sellers around the world creates economic opportunity, and this is exactly what we need to be doing – now more than ever.”
I was even lucky enough to ask Jordan some questions about the new program. Since I run a eBay Business Accelerator Program it’s important to know the benefits for new store owners! Here’s what he said,
As a result, anyone that’s looking to launch an ecom store is in luck for the next 3 months! But you have to be committed to making it a true business or already have a business and need a new sales channel. They’re offering their basic store and up to 500 listings for free.
