Over $3 Million Sold on eBay
in the Last 10+ Years

My Journey Selling on eBay:

I’ve been in the business of selling on eBay for over 14 years now and it’s been an incredible journey. After leaving an unfulfilling job at a headhunting firm, my late husband and I needed extra income. We wanted to spend more time together and I needed a break from the rat-race. I stumbled into selling on eBay in an unsuspecting way and it forever changed the trajectory of my life. It’s afforded me opportunities and experiences I wouldn’t have been able to fathom before I discovered selling on eBay. It’s a passion of mine to help others sell their unwanted items and get them in the hands of those that will use them. Whether you’re selling purses, blouses, dresses, necklaces, power tools, collectables, or anything else… I’m your go to resource for cleaning out your closet and putting money in your pocket.

I have been selling on eBay for my full time income since 2006. Since I need to make enough to pay all the bills, I need to make sure I have enough merchandise, including high end inventory to earn enough for all the bills each month. In the beginning, I was getting enough to list to keep me listing full time, but it wasn’t bringing in enough money. I needed to improve my sell through rate on the items I was listing as well as my profit margin. I realized that I needed to source for more profitable items and start turning down the items that would sit for months or even years or had a low profit margin. In order to have enough good items to sell, I needed to source more so I could turn down the low profit items and select only the profitable items. My accountant…

eBay shared some not so good news at the Spring Seller Update. eBay will now be charging a Promoted Listing fee for any item you are using Promoted Listings for if a buyer was brought into your store from any of your items listed with Promoted Listings within a 30 day period. They also shared some good news about International shipping: eBay’s New International Shipping handles International returns so you don’t have to. Now this covers sales up to $2,500! eBay is rolling out their new eBay International shipping gradually to groups of sellers over time. I am now included in their new international shipping. I’m very excited not to have to worry about returns. We talk about eBay International Shipping, eBay’s unfortunate changes to how they charge for Promoted Listings, the Spring Update and other news on our Selling on eBay Radio Show. A quick story… Before we jump into our “how to ship large items on eBay” summary, a quick story… As you might already know, I make most of my money on eBay by selling items on consignment. When I moved from California to Colorado I was leaving behind the forty-plus clients that I’d been selling for on consignment. One client still sends me her high-end clothing still ships me her items and another client who owns four laundromats sends me pictures of his commercial laundry machine parts he wants to sell, gives me their weight and dimensions, I list them on eBay and email him a prepaid shipping label when they sell. Overall I’m lucky I could keep any of my clients, but the rest of my consignment clients primarily had larger items that were not very high priced so shipping those to me didn’t make sense. The Breakdown: After…
